ABOUT US
Fort Lee is pretty special. There are a lot of reasons why, and diversity and inclusion are two of them. 73% of our students are from minority communities. We speak dozens of languages. We pride ourselves on being a safe and welcoming place for LGBTQ people. We work hard to be a national leader for neurodiversity and disability.
Fort Lee Let's Include is a community action group that works in partnership with our community, school district, and Board of Education. Fort Lee is a special place to be - and our strength is in our diversity!
PROTECT POLICY 5756
In March 2024, 5 of 9 Fort Lee Board of Education members were threatening to repeal 5756, a 9-year old policy in place to protect transgender students. A groundswell of people across our town spoke out in support of our LGBTQ students, leading to an important victory! Ultimately, 6 of 9 Board of Education members voted to abstain or uphold the policy, keeping 5756 in place! Heartfelt thanks to all of our neighbors who took action to keep Fort Lee a welcoming, safe space for LGBTQ students!
